Skin Tightening and Resurfacing

Fractional non-ablative skin tightening and resurfacing is excellent for melasma, acne scars, surgical scars, and our erbium glass laser handpiece operates using the principle of fractional photothermolysis. Pulses are delivered as an array of microbeams to create columns of coagulation in the epidermis and dermis while leaving the surrounding tissue unaffected. This allows the body’s natural healing process to quickly and efficiently create new, healthy tissue to fill in the coagulated columns.

How Does Skin Tightening and Resurfacing Work?

The laser works by heating and contracting the collagen and giving you a temporary lift. A lot of our patients choose our ICON platform when they are not quite ready for a surgical face lift or will have a treatment to look great before an event. For optimal results, patients have 3 treatments done at least 4 weeks apart, with results lasting up to 2 years. The neck also has a good response with these non-ablative lasers.

What Can I Expect?

The best candidates for service are those who have mild to moderate sagging. The procedure can be safely done on the face, neck, and any part of the body. It’s a noninvasive no-downtime procedure that’s well-tolerated. Patients can expect about 20-30% improvement after 3-4 treatments.

Icon’s 1540 Erbium 12 mm XD Fractional handpiece allows us to address skin laxity and dull skin during the same treatment session. This non-ablative laser treatment effectively targets an array of concerns, including fine lines, wrinkles, crepey skin, crow’s feet, perioral lines, neck wrinkles, scarring, mild skin sagging, enlarged pores, rosacea, and hyperpigmentation.
